How KBI works

From the source to your inbox

Most of what changes Pennsylvania’s business climate appears first somewhere no one person can watch: a memo, a committee calendar, an agency notice, a hearing stream. We watch it for you.

1

Monitor

Hundreds of public sources every day: legislative filings and memos, committee streams, agency notices, the Pennsylvania Bulletin, press releases and what officials and executives post themselves.

2

Filter

Every item is checked against its original source, summarized in plain language and ranked by its impact on investment and growth in Pennsylvania. Company news, consumer bills and politics for its own sake are left out.

3

Deliver

A ten-minute email every weekday at 7:30 a.m., with a link to every source, before the day’s news cycle starts.

$99 / month

or $999 per year

  • Business climate only. Every item answers one question: is this making Pennsylvania a better or worse place to do business?
  • Early warning. Bills, memos, votes and agency actions the morning after they happen, not days later when they’re reported.
  • Primary sources only. What lawmakers, agencies and companies publish themselves. Never rewritten from newspapers.
  • Ranked by impact. A Top 5 every morning, ordered by what matters most to investment and growth in Pennsylvania.
  • Every item linked to its source, so you can check it and go deeper.

MOST COMPLETE

KBI + Legislative Hearing Summaries

For government affairs teams, associations and anyone with business before the General Assembly.

$299 / month

or $2,999 per year

  • The signal and the record. KBI tells you what’s moving; hearing summaries tell you what happened in committee and what it means for business.
  • Follow an issue start to finish, from the co-sponsorship memo to the committee vote.
  • One subscription, one inbox, one invoice.
  • Save $50 a month compared with buying both separately ($500 a year on annual plans).

Legislative Hearing Summaries

For lobbyists, law firms and policy staff who track the committees, not the daily news.

$250 / month

or $2,500 per year

  • Hours of testimony in a few minutes. Why it matters to Pennsylvania business, the key takeaways, the bills and what happens next.
  • Every streamed hearing. House and Senate committees, policy committee hearings and PUC public meetings.
  • Neutral and accurate. Built from the official recording, with a link to it. Policy committee hearings say who held them and stay neutral on the rest.
  • Next-morning delivery, in your inbox at 7:30 a.m. with the brief.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How is KBI different from the news I already read?

We don’t rewrite newspaper or trade-press stories, and we don’t cover politics for its own sake. We monitor what lawmakers, agencies and companies publish directly, keep only what bears on Pennsylvania’s business climate, and report it the next morning.

How soon after a hearing do summaries arrive?

The next morning at 7:30 a.m., as a section of the brief. Hearings-only subscribers receive the same summaries without the daily brief.

Which hearings do you cover?

Streamed or archived meetings of Pennsylvania House and Senate committees, House and Senate policy committee hearings, and Public Utility Commission public meetings. Hearings with no bearing on the business climate are skipped.

What don’t you cover?

Company news that says nothing about the state: product launches, hires, earnings, awards. Consumer and social legislation with no business angle. Health, education and public safety unless they change the cost of operating in Pennsylvania. Anything already in the newspapers.

Can I add hearing summaries later?

Yes. Add them to an existing KBI subscription at any time.
